Date of camp

August 10-15, 2026

The tuba camp is a celebration of joy for the Hungarian tuba society. The artists and important teachers of the deepest brass instrument are happy to participate in the camp, where young talents can meet outstanding artists, learn from them, play music together, go on excursions, cook in a cauldron and play football. We welcome students playing tuba, euphonium, baritone horn and tenor horn to the magical world of the tuba camp. Of course, we are still waiting for the lovers of bass brass instruments, both young and eternally young applicants who like to listen to their sound!

About the camp

The six days of the camp between 10 and 15 August 2026 consist of professional and community-building programs. In addition to joint blows and tuba lessons, chamber music sessions will also be held by the camp teachers. But of course, concerts, community-building programs and leisure opportunities are also waiting for applicants!

Who can come?

We welcome tuba players, euphonium players, tenor horn players and baritone horn players to the camp! Someone can be a beginner or even start playing an instrument in the camp! The tuba camp is open to everyone who wants to play the tuba or join the wonderful society of tuba players!

Teaching

In the mornings, the day starts with a joint breathing exercise and inhalation.

In the morning, elementary, secondary and college students will also take part in individual tuba lessons, and after lunch, the teachers will hold chamber music sessions.

In many musical institutions, there are few, often only one tuba player, so it is not really possible to form a tuba chamber formation. Therefore, it is a special opportunity of the tuba camp that a tuba ensemble or tuba band can be formed. Everyone can try their hand at two styles, classical music and jazz, as a member of a tuba orchestra, the upper parts of which can also be played by euphonium players, baritone horn players and tenor horn players.

In the evenings, we visit the concerts of the International Wind Days together.

The application fee includes dormitory accommodation, but family and exclusive accommodation is also available in the city. (Participation in the tuba camp is not conditional on requesting joint accommodation, accommodation can also be arranged individually.)

Dormitory: ESZI – Dormitory of the Energy Vocational School (7030 Paks, Gagarin u. 3., 7030; GPS: GPS: 46° 36′ 47.6″ N, 18° 50′ 29″) The renovated dormitory has separate rooms for girls and boys for 2-4 people. The costs of dormitory care are included in the application fee.

There is a supervising teacher in the dormitory with the participants of the Tuba Camp.

Pension: Those who would like to spend the five days of the tuba camp in Paks with their families can choose boarding with self-financed financing.

Hotel: If you want to choose a comfortable vacation in Paks alone, with your partner or family, you can book a hotel room with the right equipment and comfort level for an additional fee with the help of the organizers.
